journey home

journey home, originally uploaded by MoNeart.

I read an interesting article today, actually, quite a scary one, about how

horrific the 1920 influenza was.

It killed 20 to 100 million people. It apparently originated in Kansas, and

soldiers from there spread it to Europe where it then quickly began killing

people even in remote areas like Samoa. I do mean quickly - there are

reports of people getting on streetcars and several dying by the time they

got down the street.

When I took this picture, I was starting my journey home from a customer

call in NYC. I couldn't help but think about how far from home I was, I

just wanted to get there, and keep close to my family.
