I read an interesting article today, actually, quite a scary one, about how
horrific the 1920 influenza was.
It killed 20 to 100 million people. It apparently originated in Kansas, and
soldiers from there spread it to Europe where it then quickly began killing
people even in remote areas like Samoa. I do mean quickly - there are
reports of people getting on streetcars and several dying by the time they
got down the street.
When I took this picture, I was starting my journey home from a customer
call in NYC. I couldn't help but think about how far from home I was, I
just wanted to get there, and keep close to my family.
